This is complicated......

Apparently it's a big "thing."

I just wanted to see if there was anyone that did this besides me.

I'm not a "survivalist" or something like that, I just like to grow some stuff.

Fresh food. It's good. I like it anyway, and gives me something to do.

HI!

I just set up this blog to see if there were any other gardeners here down south that grew heirloom varieties. Searched around and there does not seem to be another one.

I'll need to play around with the blog to see what I can do.

For me....the garden went fairly well for a first try (my wife calls it "The Experiment"), some fails, some really good.

The corn grew well. Beans are great and still producing. Peppers looking good. There's mint and cilantro still growing, and one single gigantic sunflower. Don't know why just one, I planted about 25 seeds.

Onions and cucumbers dried up, and the pumpkins just grew well, but got all moldy, dying so I pulled them up. Broccoli looks like skeletons but I can make the stems in to soup.

Planning some lettuce for the fall, and garlic is coming in November.

I'll have to see if I can post pictures, and if anyone else comes around you too.

I found a weird bug on one of my tomato plants yesterday, wonder WTF it is?

So that's the short story on me. Please forgive my foul mouth (or complain...), everything goes here. Mostly. There's some things I won't tolerate but I'm fairly..well fair?

All are welcome.
